Changes to USDT Support and Introduction of USDC

Posted on 2025-01-28

As the cryptocurrency landscape continues to evolve, regulatory changes are shaping how platforms like ours operate. We want to keep our customers informed about upcoming adjustments to our supported cryptocurrencies and the steps we are taking to ensure a smooth transition.

EU MICA

Why USDT Support May End Soon
The Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, introduced by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and the European Commission, aims to bring greater oversight and transparency to the cryptocurrency industry. As part of this framework, crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) are being asked to reassess and restrict certain trading options to meet new compliance requirements.

In alignment with this guidance, USDT support may be disabled on the exchange we use, starting at the end of this month. This decision is in line with the regulatory bodies' request to restrict existing trading options by January 2025.

You can safely send USDT to your account until January 30th, 2025. After this date, we recommend transitioning to other supported options to avoid potential disruptions.

Introducing USDC as a Reliable Alternative
To ensure uninterrupted service and provide a compliant alternative, we are introducing USDC support on our platform. Customers will soon be able to generate USDC ERC-20 and USDC TRC-20 addresses directly through their SSC interface. USDC offers stability and compliance with the MiCA framework, making it an ideal option for future transactions.

Continued Support for BTC Payments
In addition to USDC, we want to reassure our customers that BTC payments will continue to be supported without any changes. Bitcoin remains a key option for transactions on our platform, providing flexibility and reliability for all users.

Preparing for the Transition
We encourage our customers to update their processes and begin incorporating USDC as a preferred option for their transactions. By transitioning now, you can ensure compliance with new regulations while maintaining uninterrupted service.

If you have any questions about these changes or need assistance during this transition, our team is here to help.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we adapt to the evolving regulatory environment.
